Your Spiritual Workout
Can you live your life without being significant to any one but God? Can you minister to a person and command them to tell no man but to go to their church and praise God? Is there a desire in your heart to be made famous by God? These are the signs that my heart is saying, "Glorify my name, Lord!" We all will say we are called according to His purpose, we were predestined before the foundation of the world, and that we are justified by the blood of the Lamb. However, the part of Romans 8:28-30 that is often overlooked is, "Whom He justified, He also glorified." So, if we've already been glorified, why do we still wait on the day when we make it big? What is making it "big"? That phrase is lined with vain glory and is rooted in pride. "When I started out in the Lord, I didn't have anything, but now I'm blessed!" No. Now you are prideful! When we received the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins we were, at that very moment, blessed with "...All spiritual blessings in heavenly places." (Eph. 1:3) To look for anything greater on this earth is a set up for disappointment and failure for the one who finds it and all who follow.
The trick of the devil is to get us to look for something greater in this life and not experience the greatness of what we already have. I can hear the "Yeah, buts" right now which is my point exactly. The devil wants us to aspire to everything but knowing God and Jesus Christ who He sent. What we are to look for in this life is the manifestation of the sons of God (through Jesus Christ) that know their heavenly Father. What do you believe it matters to God if we become famous? Or if "my ministry" gets big. If we bless a lot of people? None of it matters if we don't know Him and Jesus Christ who He sent. It's easy to come into the knowledge of the kingdom of God and then start building your own kingdom. It's so easy, you can do it and no one will you hear you drive one nail, but God! Beware of building with your own significance in mind. It makes too much noise for you to hear the Holy Ghost. Beware of a desire to be significant to anyone other than God. Beware of looking for something in this life that is self seeking because even if it's sought in the name of Jesus, it's insignificant. Your insignificance to the world and concentration on God is of the most significance.
